Trail Seeker

My baby girl is now a high school grad! She is enrolled at OIT (Oregon Institute of Technology) this fall. We are so proud of her and excited, but we are also going to miss her when she goes off to college, she will be to far away to come home on week ends. She graduated with a Honors diploma and was recognized as one of the top 10 percent of her class, plus National Honors Society. Tomorrow we are having an open house for her and her friends, come Monday she needs to get employed and has a job interview through the school district. Despite earning $7000 in scholarships, she still needs more money as college is spendy these days.

It was so nice when my wife returned from Ohio taking care of her father. They had a good time, and though he was a bit under the drugs, by the end he had improved allot and my wife got to listen to his life stories she never heard before from him. My FIL is continually improving from his heart surgery and should be starting rehab exercising soon. I realized how easy it is to let ones fitness go, so I make it a point to do exercises routinely.

In two weeks it will be field day, a week end where amateur radio operators get out and set up radio stations and see how many stations they can work. I have a buddy from AZ coming up and we are headed to the hills to set up a portable radio station and see how well the band conditions are.
