We have been dealing with my FIL and his heart this past couple of weeks. Last Thursday he went in for open heart surgery, triple bypass and a valve replacement, and is in recovery now. My wife is flying out next week when my FIL gets out of the hospital and taking care of him.
We were some what surprised he agreed to the surgery, he had said in the past he wouldn't have any surgeries if he ever needed them. He has always been aware of the valve issue and wouldn't have it taken care of, but i guess since he needed the bypass work, might as well take care of the other issue.
He is doing okay, there where a few complications that occured, but that seems to be taken care of. He is tired, feels like a truck ran over him and has some confusion (all the medications?).
