Last night we got back from an overnight trip to Klamath falls to check out OIT,it is a 4-5 hour drive from here. My oldest will be starting college in a year and she has chosen OIT as one place she is interested in going to. She is looking into the dental arena and they offer a 4 year dental hygienist program or pre-dental.
We stayed at a place right in town and that evening we walked down town to find a place for dinner when we passed a window with a cat, well it wasn't one there were several, wait, there's more! We were looking at a bunch of cats in this store having full reign. We learned from a posting on the window that these cats were adoptable and that during the day they were put in another room where one could make a donation and take a tour of the cat facilities. My kids wanted to go back the next day and look at them, so we did.
This lady has over 60 cats, she takes them in and finds homes for them. The cats were neat, and it was amazing how they all got a long. One cat, Palme,r was picked up by youngest and then the cat not leave my youngest alone. I liked drew, I thought he/she was a nice looking cat.
We didn't adopt any cats, we have two already, but we sure enjoyed the visit. The kids wanted them all! When we got there, there was a news reporter for the local paper there, he took a shot of the kids with a cat and got their names, they may just end up in the Klamath Herald or what ever the local paper is called. The ladie's cats can be seen here http://www.klamathpets.com/
We had a scheduled tour set up of the college, we met with a couple of ladies who went over cost and information about the school, then a student there gave a tour of the campus ground. I was impressed, it was a nice setting and the campus was just on the edge of town. I wouldn't have any problems sending my kid there. The town isn't all that big either, which I liked. We plan to set up a similar visit at Oregon State soon.
