Last Saturday turned in to a rain event but Sunday the sun was out and the skies clear, what a nice week end to get away. The WX report was right and I made the decision to put Mt Hood off till Sunday and drive up the Columbia Gorge old highway to The Dalles before rounding up the wagons and getting some shut eye. There a number of water falls along the Columbia Gorge, the most famous is Multnomah Falls which falls 620 feet. This is Bridal falls below

Sunday morning was perfect weather wise, here is a view of Mt Hood from the North East, I admit I have never traveled down highway 35 before and have been missing out on such a nice drive. I have climbed Mt Hood several times in the past and hope to circumnavigate it this summer.

We went to Mt Hood meadow and Timberline lodge as stops on the way through and it was crowded, not only was the WX perfect but the resorts were offering free lift tickets.
