This past week the rains have been spring like, the temperatures are getting into the 50's on a regular basis. The tulips I recently planted are up and the bulbs I put into a pot are blooming in time for my wife to enjoy. My wife is transplanting petunias into bigger pots this evening and plans to have a lot of flowers in the flower beds this year.

My ramp plants are up, they are from West Virginia and I have had them growing for over 20 years now, but they won't increase in numbers so I am surprised they are still around. The locals eat these things in the spring, there something like a onion/garlic and the best way to immune one self from the smell of others who are eating them, is to eat them yourself. Traditionally they were the first greens in spring and were eaten to ward off deaseses. I think it is more of a tradition in the backwood hollers these days.
