Lighthouses

Surviving light houses of Oregon series. There are nine light houses that run the length of the Oregon Coast still in existance. Yaquina Head lighthouse is still operating today with automated light, a small wattage bulb with the use of a fresnel lense can project a light quite a distance. Each light house had a distincetive pattern of light flashing that was unique and was used for identification by seafarers. Below are 4 of the 9 lighthouses along the Oregon Coast.

I love the Oregon coast, naturally it reminds me of where I grew up (Vancouver Island).
