Photo perspective

Someone, not here, asked about the glacier scene that I recently posted here. To put the area into perspective, I thought I would show a couple of photos showing the mountains that make up the 3 Sisters. I would like to go over and take photos now, they are beautiful white, snow capped peaks.

This first photo is looking east, making the left peak the North Sister. (7/20/04)
3 Sisters
This photo is from the North looking South. The South Sister is out of view. (7/21/04)
North and Middle Sister
I realize the photo's go out of bounds, but the larger images are better.

Comments:
One of the things that I notice most as the difference between pictures of mountains and the real thing is that the pictures just don't give any realistic sense of the scale of the mountains. How tall are the sisters?

They all average just over 10,000 feet, timber line is around 6600 feet. To get a better view, click on either photo and it will take you to flickr.com. Under aditional information on the right click on the link "different sizes" then select the largest available. I have climbed both the south and middle sister in the past and will be going back up the middle sister with the family again this summer (that's the plan anyways). Compared to the North Sister the southern two are not to technical in the summer to climb.
